New Delhi : On 08.10.2019, Ct. Sanjit and Ct. Hansraj were performing patrolling duty in the area of Dhansa Road, when they received a secret information about two criminals who might be carrying illegal weapon are residing at AMN Road, N Block, Gopal Nagar. Immediately the information was shared to the Insp. Investigation Prabhanshu Kumar and Sh. Vijay Singh ACP/Najafgarh, who sensing the gravity of the information directed both the constable to take instant action and he also along with other staffs rushed to the spot.
Ct. Sanjeet alongwith Ct. Hansraj made efforts to verify the information and reached the spot as per the information where they found that the room is closed from inside. They knocked the door, but there was no response. Thereafter,whenthey pushed the door forcefully, it got open. 02 persons were found sitting and when they were asked to disclose their identities as well as their professions, one of them took out a Country Made Pistol and pointed it towards both Ct. Sanjeet and Ct. Hansraj with the intent to kill them, however both the Police personnel, sensing the situation shown extra exemplary courage and managed to save themselves by jumping over them and pressing the assailant’s hands towards the ground. As a result, the round fired by the assailant passes through the gap of both legs of Ct. Sanjeet and pierced in the floor. Other accused tried to flee from there by pushing both the police staffs, however Ct. Sanjeet in order to overpower him, hit in his left toe by his shoe and as result he get injured a little bit and could be restraint from moving from there.
Both the accused could be overpowered after a short scuffle and both the police personnel also get injured during this grappling. During enquiry, the name of the criminal, who fired on the police team, has been identified as Ramgopal Singhage-26years, R/o Ujwa, Paana-Tihai, New Delhi. The weapon of offence i.e. one Contry Made Pistol was recovered from him. While, 02 live cartridges were recovered from the possession of co-accused Sikandar,age 21 years,R/o Distt. Mujaffarpur, Bihar.
Both the injured police staffs and accused Sikandar, who had sustained injuries were sent to RTRM for medical examination. A criminal case vide FIR No. 529/19 dated 09.10.2019, u/s 186/353/332/307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS BHD Nagar
