The complainant had reported that his nephew, a budding wrestler age about 13 years was missing since 30.11.2016 from the area of Shahbad Diary, Delhi. A case, vide FIR No. 840/2016, Dated 02.12.2016 U/S 363 IPC P.S. Shahbad Dairy, Delhi was registered in this regard. Dinesh r/o Sonipat, HR, age about 22 years, another wrestler at the Akhada, was suspected in the kidnapping case. The young boy was preparing to be a wrestler at Sir Chhotu Ram Akhada, Shahbad Dairy, Delhi and had been staying at the Akhada since the past 11 months. After registration of the case, the investigation was taken up by the local police. Despite efforts by the local police, the missing boy could not be found. Cash reward of Rs. 25,000/- was declared by Delhi Police Headquarters in this case.
Further investigation of the case was transferred to AHTU/Crime Branch, by the Commissioner of Police, Delhi and the case file was received by AHTU, Crime Branch on 03.04.19.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, a team of AHTU/Crime Branch, Sector 16, Rohini, Delhi, led by ACP Surender Kumar Gulia along with Inspr. Virender Kumar and ASI Vinod Kumar, HC Joginder Singh and Ct. Pradeep, was constituted to investigate the matter and trace the missing wrestler boy.
On 04.04.19, the officials of AHTU, Crime Branch found out that the boy was in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Accordingly, the complainant was informed about the progress and he was requested to join the police team. On 05.04.19, the AHTU team managed to locate the missing boy in the area of Kanti Nagar, Sindhi Camp, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Accused Dinesh was also arrested from the spot.
During interrogation, Dinesh revealed that he had been rusticated by the Akhada coach for misconduct. During his time at the Akhada, he had grown quite fond of the young boy. When Dinesh was asked to leave the Akhada, he managed to convince the little boy to accompany him. Together, they traveled to various places in Haryana and Rajasthan and finally settled down in Jaipur. The parents of the little boy searched for him everywhere but were unable to find him.
It took just 3 days for AHTU, Crime Branch to locate the missing boy. The boy has been restored with his parents. The accused is in judicial custody. Further investigation in the case is on.
