The staff of Police Station Seemapuri, Shahdara District solved a case of kidnapping of a 03 months old infant. Two accused persons namely Shyam Babu @ Deepak (Father of kidnapped infant)and one woman were arrested and infant was rescued safely rescued from other state.

On 23.03.2018, a PCR call was received from Kalander Colony Dilshad Garden, Delhi therein complainant & father of kidnapped child stated that his wife approached to him and told him that her daughter went missing. On receipt of complaint, a case vide u/s 363 IPC was registered at PS Seemapuri.

Sensitivity of the case and safe recovery of the infant were taken on priority. 6 teams were constituted, without any delay,under the leadership ofSh Bharat ReddyACP/Seemapuri, ACP (U/T) Harsh Indora IPS, SHO/Seemapuri Inspr. Sanjeev Kumar, ATO/Seemapuri Inspr. Arun Kumar, Inspr. Investigation/Seemapuri Insp. J. K. Singh, SI Shashi Kant, SI Monu Chauhan, SI Rakesh, SI Sombir, ASI Om Prakash, ASI Rajkumar, HC Ajay, Ct. Prince, Ct Mohit, Ct. Lalit, Ct Amod, Ct Vipin, W/Ct Tripti and Ct. Vikrant.All 6 teams were closely supervised. All the teams were rushed to the spot and briefed to collect all the possible aspects of kidnapping and clues. Teams started off with combing operation for the infant in the surrounding area, information wascollected from neighbors and all the nearby CCTV cameraswereanalyzed.All the dark stretches, markets, metro station and bus stations were searched thoroughly. A tracker dog was also brought to the spot and the route used by the kidnapper was retraced.

During the course of investigation, sources were deployed in the area to get the lead into the matter, meanwhile a small clue was received that father of the kidnapped child had an extra-marital affair and the father had an argument with the woman (with whom he had an extra marital affair) about the baby few days ago. The same was flagged and out of 6 teams few were assigned to investigate the angle of extra-marital affair of the infant’s father (complainant).During the investigation his wife (mother of infant) disclosedthat her husband threatened her of divorce and that he had an affair prior to marriage but at present she does not have any knowledge.

During the sustained interrogation the complainant disclosed about that woman, raid was conducted and that woman was taken into custody. Both the complainant and woman(with whom the had extra-marital affair) were further interrogated separately. The woman on probing admitted that she along with complainant (Deepak) hatched a plan and kidnappedthe infant so that the complainant could continue his illicit affair.She further disclosed that after kidnapping the child was abandoned at Chamunda Temple, Abhay Khand, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, UP. On this, teams were rushed to the said location and on local enquiry it was found that an infant was found at the temple and handed over to local police. GhaziabadPolice had admitted the child in a Hospital in Ghaziabad. The team reached the Hospital and the infant was recovered and handed over to the safe custody of the mother of the infant.
