The staff of Anti- Narcotic Cell of South East District has arrested one bootlegger Mohd Nasir. With his arrest, one car and 1750 quarters of illicit liquor have been recovered from his possession.
On 07.01.22, a piece of secret information was received that one person was coming in car with a large quantity of illicit liquor in the area of Hazarat Nizamuddin, Delhi. If raid is conducted, he could be apprehended in time. Acting on to the secret tip received, a team comprising SI Gaurav Choudhary, ASI Surender, ASI Viju Mon, HC Salimuddin, Ct. Vinod and Ct. Himanshu led by Inspr. Aishvir Singh under the supervision of ACP/Ops. was constituted to nab the bootleggers. The team laid a trap near DDA park, Hazrat Nizamuddin. After sometime, they saw a car coming from Nizam Nagar side recklessly in high speed. The secret informer pointed towards him and conveyed that he is the alleged bootlegger. The team managed to apprehended him. On checking his car, total 1750 quarters of illicit liquor bearing mark “for sale in Haryana only” were recovered from him. On enquiry, the accused person was identified as Mohd Nasir s/o Mohd Motin R/o Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi age 38 yrs. Accordingly a case FIR No. 08/22 u/s 33/58 Delhi Excise Act was registered at PS Hazrat Nizamuddin. With his arrest, recovered 1750 quarters of illicit liquor and one car were seized. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
On sustained interrogation, accused Mohd Nasir disclosed that he wanted to earn huge money in a short frame of time. In order to earn easy money, he started bringing illicit liquor from Faridabad border Haryana at lower rates to sell them in Delhi at higher prices.
