Dr. Harshvardhan inaugurated Peeli Kothi Chest Clinic at Chandni Chowk

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Harshvardhan inaugurated the North DMC’s newly-constructed Peeli Kothi Chest Clinic at Lahori Gate, Chandni Chowk. North Delhi Mayor Yogender Chandolia; Standing Committee Chairman Mohan Bhardwaj; Deputy Mayor of Delhi . Ravinder Gupta; Director (Hospital Administration) Dr. D K Seth; Deputy Commissioner of City Zone Ms. Padma Jaiswal; and senior officials of other departments were also present on this occasion. The event was presided over by area councillor Surekha Gupta.

Dr. Harshvardhan said that the clinic would help the local residents who need not visit far off places for the illnesses such as TB. He informed that apart from TB, the clinic offers treatment of other diseases as well. He said that the treatment of TB costs around 1 to 1.5 lakh while the clinic offers it free of cost. He also emphasized on sensitivity of medical staff and doctors towards the patients. Dr. Harshvardhan further said that in the near future, Chandni Chowk will witness many changes with trams running in this area.

Yogender Chandolia said that in today’s age the poor suffers the most in case of illness and the Corporation is providing medical services to the poor and downtrodden with such health institutions.

Mohan Bhardwaj said that good health ensures development of society and the country. He said that with the development of this clinic, people of this area and other places of Delhi would benefit.

Surekha Gupta informed that the clinic has been constructed at an approximated cost of Rs. 405 lakh in an area of more than 1125.84 square metres. The ground and first floors have 2 health official rooms at each floor. Ground floor has emergency room, one laboratory room, one DOTS distribution room, one x-ray room. First floor has pharmacy store room, one staff room, one special clinic room and one meeting hall.
