Delhi Police arrested one Bajrang Prajapati, the staff of P.S. Govindpuri, South-East District has solved a case of criminal breach of trust in which he misappropriated Rs. 15 lacs of his employer.
According Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP, South-East Distt, one Sumit Goyal r/o Anand Vihar, Pitam Pura, Delhi reported that he is a timber merchant and running a company under the name ‘Giriraj Timber Pvt. Ltd.’ at Mundka, Delhi. On 21st Dec. 2014 at about 11:30 AM, he had sent his employee Bajrang Prajapati (who was working in his company for the last 2 – 2 ½ years) to his business partner at Govind Puri to collect Rs. 15 lacs. His employee collected the amount and did not return back. The complainant called him on his mobile phone that was found switched off. Accordingly, a case of criminal breach of trust was registered at PS Govind Puri and investigation was taken up.
Keeping in view the sensitivity and huge amount involved in the case, a team comprising of SI Parvesh Kasana, was immediately formed under the supervision of Inspr. Sunil Kumar SHO/Govind Puri, Delhi.
During investigation, it was revealed that alleged Bajrang Prajapati was using one of the rooms of complainant’s company as accommodation and his family is residing at Tehsil Ratangarh, Distt. Churu, Rajasthan. His photograph and address were obtained from the complainant and a raid was conducted there but it was revealed that he had not visited the place after the incident. Further, technical surveillance was mounted and it was revealed that he was using another two SIMs and on analysis of the CDRs, some mobile numbers were found in contact with him. On the basis of ownership of these mobile numbers, several raids were conducted at different places of Rajasthan but he had already abandoned the place and his present whereabouts were not known to anybody. Meanwhile, one of his friends gave information that Bajrang would come to his native village on which the police team reached there but by that time he had already left. Subsequently, another information was received that Bajrang had reached Delhi and he would move to some other place by boarding the bus from ISBT Sarai Kale Khan. The police team immediately reached there and managed to apprehend accused Bajrang Prajapati who was in possession of a carry bag and on the search of the bag, cash Rs. 14.20 lacs were recovered.
He was subjected to sustained interrogation in which he disclosed that he had recently sold his house in his native village and purchased another house at Tehsil Ratangarh, Distt. Churu, Rajasthan for which he was in need of money and he borrowed the same from his relatives and friends but at high interest rate. Meanwhile, his wife got sick due to which he was under pressure w.r.t the repayment of borrowed money as well as the expenditure being incurred on the treatment of his wife. So, he was looking for an opportunity to earn big amount. In the present incident, while he collected Rs. 15 lacs from the business partner of complainant, he planned to escape with the money. Soon after the incident, he came to know that the police team is following him, he frequently shifted from one hideout to another and finally he was apprehended. The remaining amount was spent by him in the travelling and arranging stay at different places. Further investigation is in progress.
