Sensitization of road users on the occasion of World Health Day

On the occasion of World Health Day on 7th April 2019, awareness and sensitization programmes were organized by the Delhi Traffic Police at ISBT Kashmere Gate, India Gate and Select City Walk Saket in association with CATs ambulance; and at Pacific Mall Subhash Nagar, Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj and V3S Mall Laxmi Nagar in association with Manipal Hospitals. The objective of the campaign was to sensitize people about the importance of the Golden hour and good samaritan laws. People were also sensitized about the ill effects of noise and air pollution on health and that vehicle drivers should honk only when absolutely necessary and should switch off their vehicle engine when stationary so as to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The ambulance staff gave people tips about cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the manner in which accident victims, injured and ailing people should be handled in case of an emergency. Around 1500 people were sensitized during the campaign by the staff from Road Safety Cell, Traffic Circles and paramedics deployed on the ambulances. The campaign was an initiative of the Road Safety Cell, Delhi Traffic Police.
