Dwarka Police, has taken up special measures during lockdown due to Covid-19 to implement curfew/lockdown guidelines and also checking the street crime. Foot Patrolling/Motorcycle Patrolling, Beat Staff and Community Policing Vehicle patroll especially on the routes leading to crowded places, markets and delivering the message to people how one can”break the chain” and combat the spread of the lethal virus. The policemen staff deployed at various picket duties, requests/sensitize the people to keep inside their homes and sensitze them about the risks of roaming around, as they may get infected from Corona Virus and they are putting their families at risk. Police staff is also taking strict legal action against corona guidelines violators. Total 4629 persons were fined for not wearing masks and not maintaining social distance in the market or roaming in car etc.
According to Santosh kumar Meena , DCP, Maximum visibility of force was ensured and Praharis & Police Mitras, who actas force multipliers were also properly sensitized. Around 2419 police personnel bolstered with 125 patrol motorcycles have been deployed to enhance police visibility during late evening hours. 26 border pickets & intergrated pickets have been strategically set up to check the movement of people roaming unnecessarily.
Around 29,042 persons were detained U/s 65 DP Act during the intensive drive by the special teams of Dwarka District. Preventive actions U/s 92/93/97 Cr.PC was taken against 334 persons after due verification, 4392 vehicles/unclaimed property were seized U/s 66 DP Act, action taken against 79 persons U/s- 107/150 CrPC, 92 person have been prosecuted U/s 110(g) CrPC & 83 people were restrained U/s107/151 DP Act. The actions were taken under the provisions of Delhi Police Act and Cr.PC. Snatched/Stolen mobiles were also recovered during the drive. Anintensive checking of public places like dark stretches/spots, vulnerable spots & Parks/Malls were also conducted and 72 persons were booked under the Excise Act for drinking at public places. A number of people were also rounded up during the drive. To continue good work and to motivate staff, concerned will be rewarded also.
