The team of Special Staff South-West District, Delhli Police has arrested a gang of mobile thieves “Topi Gang” and recovered one stolen motorcycle and 30 stolen mobile phones from their possession.
In view of increase in the incidents of mobile thefts in the area of South West District, a dedicated team of Special Staff comprising SI Mukesh, led by Insp. Dinesh Kumar and under the close supervision of ACP/Ops Shri. Satish Kumar was constituted to develop information about active mobile thieves operating in the area.
On 07/04/19, a secret information was recived about the gang involved in such incidents. Acting on the tip off a trap was laid down near the expected arrival spot i.e. Bangali Camp, Rangpuri to nab the accused. On the signal of the informer, three person riding on a motorcycle were signalled to stop but insted of stopping the bike they tried to sped away but the accused persons were nabbed after a hot chase by the team members. During interrogation, they were identified as (1)Harish @Topi (Gang leader) R/o Rajnagar- 1, Palam Colony, Najafgarh age 22 yrs, (2) Shivom @Shivam R/o Sadh Nagar Palam, age 36 yrs and (3) Sundar Pramod @Babu R/o Sadh Nagar, Palam, age 29 yrs. During their search eighteen stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possission. During sustained interrogation, the accused Harish @ Topi confessed his involvements in several mobile theft cases. The bike, on which they were riding, was found stolen from the area of PS V. K. South in which case vide e-FIR No. 010601/19 u/s 379 IPC, dated 25.03.2019 was lodged. Accordingly, the accused presons were arrested u/s 41.1 (D), Cr. P.C.
