The new office building of Dy. Commissioner (West Distt) Govt. of NCT of Delhi will soon be constructed at District centre, Sivaji Place Complex at Raja Garden in west Delhi by the public works Department of Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The Union Minister of state for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today laid the foundation stone of the building at the above site in a function organized by the office of the Dy. Commissioner (West). Area M.P Pravesh Verma, Pr. Secretary(PWD) Arun Baroka, Pr. Secretary(Revenue)/Divisional Commissioner, S. N. Sahay, Pr. Chief Engineer, Mukund Joshi and Dy. Commissioner(West) Sh. C. R. Garg were also present on this occasion.

Laying the foundation stone of the building Sh. Rijiju said that the new office building will be developed as a state of art building with all necessary facilities, keeping in view the need of the people. The building will have public dealing single window hall, conference hall, DDC chairman office, disaster management centre etc., apart from having adequate parking with two basement parkings, underground and over head tanks and rain water harvesting system. The building will have Air conditioning of 160 ton in all office rooms excluding passages, toilets, stores, Solar, Power generation system 35 KV on roof, D.G. set 250 KV, Low flow fittings, Use of LED light & energy efficient lights, Roof insulation/ Wall insulation , STP, R.O. system, Energy efficient UPVC windows with special glasses , Uses of PPC cement with 25% fly ash.

Rijiju said that it is atmost important to complete the project within the stipulated time as its will save money and manpower both. He appealed the people to take active participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission by ensuring cleanliness in and around their localities.

Pr. Secretary (PWD) Arun Baroka said that the construction work of the new office building will soon be started and will be completed well within the stipulated time period i.e. 21 months. The building will be constructed at the cost of Rs. 27.32 crore in a total area of 5385 SQM with ground coverage of 897 SQM. The open green area shall be 1578 SQM. The Six storey building will be fully air-conditioned except passage, staircase, toilets and stores.

Dy. Commissioner (West), C. R. Garg said that presently the office of the Dy. Commissioner (West) is functioning in an old school building since 01/01/1997, which is very inconvenient to the public visiting the D.C. Office. It has shortage of space for staff. He said that new office building shall be state of the art and based on green building concept. It will accommodate DC, ADM, Two SDM’S, Two Tehsildars, Disaster management branch, Election branch and other revenue officials. It will ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people.
