A team of STARS-I, Crime Branch, Delhi has arrested two accused persons, namely (1) Ashwani S/o Tirath Singh R/o Village Savada, P.O. Nizampur, PS Kanjhawla, New Delhi Age 32 years and (2) Dr.Parshant S/o Rajender Singh R/o Bhajanpura, New Delhi Age 30 years, and five Remdesivir Vials have been recovered from their possession. Rs. 32,000/- cash has also been recovered from the possession of accused Ashwani.

In view of Global Pandemic COVID-19 wave,some gangs got involved in storage and black marketing of these drugs.Accordingly, several teams of STARS-I, Crime Branch were deployed with the specific task to identify and nab such gangs.

A team of STARS-1, Crime Branch identified a security guard of Sonia Hospital situated at Nangloi, Delhi and apprehended him red handed with one “Remdesivir” injection,which he willing to sell at an exorbitant price. A case vide FIR No.81/2021 dated 02.05.2021 u/s 420/188 IPC, & 3 Epidemic Diseases Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi. On sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that the recovered was provided to him by one Dr. Parshant, a working in Sonia Hospital, Nangloi, Delhi.

Accordingly, a raid was conducted at Sonia Hospital, Nangloi and accused Dr. ParshantS/o Rajender Singh R/o Bhajan pura, New Delhi Age 30 years was arrested and four more vials of Remdesivir injections were recovered from the possession of the accused person.

On 01.05.2021,a secret information was received by SI Uday veer Singh that one person namely Ashwani,who is serving as security supervisor at Sonia Hospital, Nangloi, Delhi, is selling the Remdesivir vaccine at very high rates. Acting on secret information, a team led by SI Krishan Kumar and SI Chandan Kumar, comprising of SI Uday veer Singh, HC Deepak No. 115/Cr and Ct Dheeraj No. 1370/Cr under close supervision of Manoj Dixit, ACP/STARS-I, Crime Branch, Delhi was constituted to apprehend the gang. After developing the information, CtDheeraj was deputed as decoy customer to purchase the Remdesivir vaccine from the accused. After getting the bargaining, the accused was ready to deliver the Remdesivir vaccine for a sum of Rs 32000/. Accused Ashwani S/o Tirath Singh delivered the lifesaving “Remdesivir injection” after accepting Rs 32000/-.

On sustained interrogation, he disclosed tha the was selling/black marketing the injection on higher price as the demand ofthe injections were very high, as there was scarcity of the same in the market.One doctor of Sonia Hospital provides this Remdesivir vaccine and he can also provide more Remdesivir vaccine. At the instance of accused Ashwani, Dr. ParshantS/o Rajender Singh was apprehended and four more “Remdesivir Injections” were recovered from his possession.

Accused Parshant sources the Remdesivir vaccine from Sonia hospital and sell these injections to the accused Ashwani and then accused Ashwani further sell the same to the needy persons at very high rates. During the pandemic, accused Parshant gets the Remdesivir injections from the Sonia Hospital in the name of admitted serious patient and used to sell Remdesivir injection on high price through his associate Ashwani.
