A team of Special Cell, SWR under the supervision of ACP Sanjay Dutt has arrested one Abdul Rahim s/o Ayesh Sekh r/o Village Sukpara, PO Joyenpur, PS Baishnab Nagar, Kaliachak-III, Malda, West Bengal,Age: – 29 Yrs. from near exit gate Anand Vihar Railway station,New Delhi. He is a member of Malda, WestBengal based FICN syndicate and is indulged in smuggling of FICN from Bangladesh for long time. He had visited Bangladesh several times to procurethe FICN. He was about to deliver the FICN to one of his contacts based in Delhi.Fake Indian Currency Notes of the face value of Rs.8 Lacs were recovered from his possession.
For past few months information was being received regarding the Malda, (West Bengal) based syndicates,involved in infiltration/smuggling of Fake Indian Currency Notes(FICNs)printed in foreign country, through Indo-Bangladesh border,and circulation of same in Delhi and adjoining states.A team of special Cell started working on this information and deployed secret sources in different areas of Delhi as well as West Bengal. On 16.04.2021, the team got specific information that a member of this syndicate namely Abdul Rahim will be reaching near Anand Vihar Railway station, Delhi to deliver the huge consignment of Fake Indian Currency Notes to his Delhi based contact.Accordingly, a trap was laid near the Anand Vihar Railway station. At about 5.30 PM, the team spotted a person standing & waiting for someone near exit gate of Anand Vihar Raiway station, on the main road proceeding towards Dilshad Garden from Anand Vihar. On being identified by the informer, Abdul Rahim was apprehended.On the cursory search of his bag the Fake Indian Currency Notes of the facevalue of Rs.8 Lacs were recovered and seized. A case vide FIR No. 107/2021 under appropriate sections of law was registered, Abdul Rahim was arrested and theFICN has been seized in the case.
